How Long Until You Stop Making Mistakes?

by Sad Johnny

I've been playing for about a year and a half and I still make mistakes regularly, like at least one every five minutes of playing. I'm getting a bit frustrated, I practice so much and still can't play things right.

How should I avoid making mistakes when playing guitar?

Are you a human or a bot?

The thing is, unless you are going for 100 percent on Guitar Hero or auditioning for a jury of college professors, it's OK to make mistakes!!

Making "mistakes" is only human. Everyone does it. If you are concerned out people noticing, then you should learn how to play off your mistakes so they go unnoticed.

Try this: next time you mess up, do it again! It makes it seem like you did it on purpose!

There are no "wrong" notes in life, just intended notes. If your audience remains unaware of your intentions through your savvy disguise and poise, then your "mistake" won't be a mistake at all. More of a dodge.

Of course there is a degree here. If you just can't play a song without sounding intolerable, then you need to practice at home before performing!

If this is the case, you simply need more practice. Grab that metronome at repeat until your fingers bleed!

Stay human and good luck!
